Interview With Carly Werwie Professional Golfer on the LPGA Symetra Tour

A Light Hearted Golf Q & A Interview

By Brian Weis

Below is an interview with Carly Werwie, the Professional Golfer on the LPGA Symetra Tour at . The following are a few traditional and non traditional golf centric questions that I love to ask influential people in the golf industry.

Can you provide our readers a brief biography?
Carly Werwie, Professional Golfer on the LPGA Symetra Tour. I'm from Kenosha, WI and I played college golf for the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I graduated with a degree in Human Development Family Studies with an emphasis on Early Child Development. The upcoming 2015 season will be my third year on tour.

When did you start golfing and who introduced you to the game?
My dad introduced me to the game by taking me to the driving range when I was 4 years old. I didn't start playing in tournaments until I was 10 years old.

What is your current home course?
When I'm in Wisconsin, Racine Country Club is my home course. I recently moved to AZ for the winter months and I practice/play out of Camelback Golf Club.

To date, what is your proudest golf accomplishment?
I have two proud accomplishments.

1.) I always wanted to win a state championship on a team because I thought it would be such an amazing experience. During my junior year of high school my team made it's first ever appearance at the 2005 WIAA State High School Golf Championship and won! We were never considered a team to win let alone get to state. The moment I found out that we won as a team is a part of my golf career that I will never forget!

2.) I worked full-time in 2012- 2013 because my golf status was too low to get in events. While working full-time I made it to Final Stage of LPGA Q-School in the fall of 2012. The amount of time management and dedication that I put it in to make it that far while working full-time is a moment I'm proud of.

What is your biggest golf pet peeve on or off the course?
My biggest pet peeve on the golf course is when people aren't ready when it's their turn.

What is your favorite club in your bag and why?
I love my putter! This is a new thing for me to say because I have finally found a putter that I am confident with. I'm putting with a Wilson Staff Infinite Grant Park Putter. I changed to this putter last fall and I really like the darker finish and the feel while putting.

What is your favorite golf destination?
I haven't been on a golf destination trip for fun but if I could choose one it would be to go to Pebble Beach and play there as well as Cypress Point, and Spyglass

What course is on your bucket list that you have not played yet?
Augusta

If you woke up tomorrow and could play one course you played before, where would you play?
I would play Entrada at Snow Canyon in St. George, Utah. The scenery is beautiful with red desert rock mountains, snow capped mountains, and black rock surrounding the fairways from a natural fissure on 3 of the last 4 holes.

If you could change one aspect, rule or thing about golf, what would it be and why?
I would change/make a rule that if your ball is in the fairway but is in a divot you can choose to take a free drop as close to the divot as possible. I feel you shouldn't be penalized by being in a divot while in the fairway because someone was too lazy or inconsiderate to replace/fill their divot.

Dream foursome (living)?
My dad, Tiger Woods, Aaron Rodgers, and myself.

Dream foursome (living or dead)?
My dad, Luke Bryan, Jimmy Fallon, myself
