2012 Membership Details at The Bog

An Interview With Diana Wakefield, Director of Sales and Marketing

By Brian Weis

After a fall round at The Bog, I crossed paths with Diana Wakefield, Director of Sales and Marketing at The Bog. After asking her about the 2011 season, I inquired what was in store for 2012. She was excited too share their new membership options for 2012. I was blown away at the value provided at one of Milwaukee's finest daily fee courses.

Why should someone become a member at The Bog?

The Bog's membership programs provide a tremendous value for those who are serious about golf. Because there is no initiation fee, no monthly dues, no food and beverage minimums, and no possibility of capital assessments to fund non-golf related amenities, members save tens of thousands of dollars versus a private country club membership. In addition to this substantial savings, members can play an unlimited number of rounds at one of the best daily fee golf facilities in the Milwaukee area.

What is included within a membership?

The options fairly extensive. Let me bullet point them for you.

* 30-day advance tee time reservations
* No tee-time restrictions
* Range membership included
* 10% off on House Account Charges
* Two Complimentary Guest Rounds of golf
* Member Guest Fees, for example Weekend rate of $79; Weekday rate of $69 (includes cart)
* Children of members under the age of 10 can play with parents after 5:00 pm on weekends at no additional charge

All of his life, Brian has been around the game of golf. As a youngster, Brian competed at all levels in junior and high school golf. Brian had a zero chance for a college golf scholarship, so he worked on the grounds crew at West Bend Country Club to pay for his University of Wisconsin education. In his adult years, his passion for the game collided with his entrepreneurial spirit and in 2004 launched GolfWisconsin.com. In 2007, the idea for a network of local golf directory sites formed and GolfTrips.com was born. Today, the network consists of a site in all 50 states supported by national sites like GolfTrips.com, GolfGuide.com and GolfPackages.com. It is an understatement to say, Brian is passionate about promoting golf and golf travel on a local, regional, national and international level.

On the golf course, Brian is known as a fierce weekend warrior that fluctuates between a 5-9 handicap. With a soft fade, known as "The Weis Slice", and booming 300+ drives, he can blast it out of bounds with the best of them.
