Golf Course Review: Red Maple Country Club
Best $15.00 course I have seen.
The front nine is what you would expect for $15.00 to walk. From the back tees the front nine measures 2616 yards. With a par of 36. It is a tight old growth treelined nine. The greens are postage stamps but roll good. When you step on the tee of the back nine, things change. The back nine measures 3463 from the back tees. With a par of 36. Its a big boy nine. I have played $350.00 dollar courses and this nine's layout is comparable. You can tell they do not have the budget of a high end course though. Some dead spots in the fairways. Unkept bunkers, the areas of pine straw need some clean up. Then again what do you expect for $15.00...caddies and Pro Vs on the range? Come on. There are 60 to 80 foot tall pines that line some tee boxes, fairways and greens. Greens are large and rolled very good. Some elevation changes of 20 to 30 feet. Excellent layout. Expect dead spots on the tees and fairways. If that upsets you, then pull out your receipt. By the way I'm a 9.4. The first time I played the back nine, I stopped keeping score. If you can shot 40 or better on the back. You can play your ball!
