Golf Course Review: Forest Hills Golf Course
Very Hilly, but not that long
This municipal course is kept in good condition, but plays short for most scratch golfers. Weekend non-resident fee with a cart is $31 (as of 2014) which is competitive with courses in better condition in the area. Unique to the course is a train track that separates the clubhouse, first tee, and 18th green from the rest of the course. The back nine play up and down the side of two bluffs, offering elevation challenges, winds that shift often, and plenty of hillside lies. Recently, many trees were removed, opening the course up a bit, but not greatly easing playability. Putting and chipping greens and a driving range offer a solid place to hone your skills off the course.
Overall, I see the course as a decent value and believe the city has done a good job of managing the facility.
