Local and traveling golfers love to research courses before playing them, whether it is to gain some local knowledge or to set an expectation before their upcoming round. Below is an interview with Justin Fox who shares some valuable insight about the property, its most talked about holes and the signature dish/drink to consume at the 19th hole.

How Does Your Course Differ From The Others In The Area?
Thornberry Creek at Oneida is a 27-hole golf operation with an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole executive course designed by Rick Jacobsen. The 9-hole course featuring double flags / double greens was completed in 2000. The 18 hole Legends golf course hosted the 2017 Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic, now a regular stop for the LPGA tour with an initial agreement through 2019. In preparation for the LPGA, Thornberry went through a $2.7m renovation including a complete redesign of the practice facility adding 40,000 sqft of tee space, a brand new putting green and a full short game area with a bunker.
Thornberry Creek at Oneida is the Official Golf Course of the Green Bay Packers.

For someone who has not played the course in awhile, has there been any new changes/renovations to the course or property?
We have had some major changes in the last 18 months! We have taken the necessary steps to prepare the 18 hole Legends golf course for and LPGA Tour event - the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic. No doubt the course has gotten better year round as a result of that. In addition to the course conditions we renovated approximately 25 bunkers on the golf course. We did a complete renovation of the practice tee adding three tiers of hitting space equaling 40,000 sqft of turf, a brand new putting green and short game area with a couple bunkers.

What is your course's answer to Amen Corner? (Describe your best/hardest 3 back/back/back holes)
Our Amen Corner is undeniably holes 15, 16 and 17. There is a great mix of toughness and adrenaline pumping risk and reward. Number 15 is a great par 5 where if the wind is right, long ball hitters can get there in two swings. It's still not easy though, the green is surrounded by water and you're most likely going to have a long iron or fairway wood to carry the water hazard. Hole 16 is a great par 4 where if you take driver off the tee you may have to carry some woods but the reward is having a flip wedge in hand to the green. You can also take your medicine and lay back with long iron off the tee but then you may have a mid or short iron for the approach. Number 17 is the dagger! If you can walk away with par it's a win most days. The treacherous par three warrants long iron from the tee box to a green that is guarded with bunkers on the left, hazard on the right and some foliage in the sight line of the players who move the ball right to left. No doubt, bets always come down to Amen Corner at Thornberry Creek at Oneida.

What is your course's claim to fame, or is there a little known fact that golfers should know about the property?
Thornberry Creek at Oneida is the Official Golf Course of the Green Bay Packers and host of a regular LPGA Tour stop. Our Iroquois 9 hole course is nationally ranked and has a very unique layout. The 9 hole course features double greens on every hole so you could essentially play 18 different holes on the one course. It's a lot of fun and very score-able.

What tournaments/events have you (recently) hosted or will be hosting?
We are excited and proud to host the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic again in July 2018 and 2019. Some other events we are also proud to host is the Drive, Chip and Putt event on July 30th and the WSGA State Senior Amatuer on August 27th and 28th.

Besides golf, what other amenities do you offer if a golfer wants to spend most of the day at your facility?
The Sports Pub offers guests a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, with 24 HD TVs and 20 draft beers you won't want to leave. Our patio overlooks 18 green and is a perfect setting to take in some sunshine and relax. We strive to provide the country club atmosphere for every player that walks through our doors.

Signature sandwich or drink?
Who needs a sandwich when you can smell our wood fired pizzas as soon as you walk in the door? Our authentic wood fired oven produces our signature item - the Hole in One Pizza. Complete with everything you love.. double sausage, double cheese, double mushroom and your choice of two additional toppings. You may have left some shots on the course but we guarantee you won't leave hungry.
