Whether you have played a course 20+ times a year or looking to play the course for the first time, insights from an insider can help enhance your golf experience. Below is an interview with Chris who shares some valuable tidbits about the course, memorable holes and must eats and treats at the 19th.
Give Our Readers An Overview of the Golf Course/Property Big Fish Golf Club is the #1 rated public golf course in Northern Wisconsin and designed by legendary Pete Dye. Big Fish Golf Club consists of both traditional linksland and glacial hardwoods. Open and rugged terrain defines the deceivingly tranquil front nine, while the inward nine holes are sculpted into the rolling forests of Hayward, Wisconsin.
If Someone Was Looking To Golf In The Area, Why Should They Play Your Course? Designed by Legendary Pete Dye and offers a unique setting with two totally different 9's. Also offers 5 sets of tees to accommodate any type of golfer.
What Is The Signature, Most Talked About, or Most Photographed Hole? Hole #13. It is a reachable downhill par 5 that offers eagle/birdie opportunities but an errand shot may result in a double bogey quickly.
What Is Your Favorite Hole? Any Tips to Play It? My favorite hole is #16 at Big Fish. It plays between 150-180 yards and slightly downhill. When standing on the tee it looks like a pretty straight forward par 3, that is until you get to the green. The green slopes from left to right and the green is very slick. I have hit many good shots onto that green only to 3 putt and leave disappointed.
My tip would be to try and stay beneath the hole if at all possible to give you your best chance of making the putt.
Who Holds Course Record and What Was Their Score? Through my 6 years of being at the course I heard it is 68 from the black tees but do not know who shot the score.
