Golf Course Review: SentryWorld
Great course
SentryWorld came on the scene in 1982 when it was the rage of public courses in America. SentryWorld got more publicity than any other public course, especially, with its 7th hole (now 16th) which is referred to as the flower hole. When John Joanis selected Robt. Trent Jones, Jr. to design the course (after J. Nicklaus turned it down) he came up with probably his finest creation to that time. The greens were to severe when first built, but they've been slightly modified over the years. Senty is a tremendous challenge to the expert golfer. Hole placements can be selected that force every shot to negotiate a bunker, or face the dilemna of a tiered green. With its relatively flat playing surface it's an easy walker's course, yet it has continuous concrete cartpaths that are constructed to handle the landing of a 747 jet....you never see any cracks in these cart paths.
The professional staff is first class...making your stay enjoyable. The practice facilities are wonderful and neatly located. The course location is easy to get to and can be visually enjoyed as you pass by on I-39.
If you play serious golf...then SentryWorld is a must. It ranks up there with any of the new super courses that have been built in the past few years. Play SentryWorld....and enjoy it.
