Blackwolf Run - The River and The Meadow Valleys

Blackwolf Run opened for play in June 1988 and was named that year's "Best New Public Course" in the country by Golf Digest.

Regarded as one of Pete Dye's crowning achievements, Blackwolf Run has hosted a number of professional championships: the Andersen Consulting World Golf Championships in 1995, 1996 and 1997 as well as the U.S. Women's Open in 1998 and 2012.

Destination Kohler features some of the best golf in the state... PERIOD! Where else can you find five of the finest courses in the Badger State, let alone the Midwest, all within a 20 mile radius.

The must play course in the area is The Straits Course at Whistling Straits, the ultimate tribute to links-style golf. Pete Dye sculpted two 18 hole masterpieces on the Lake Michigan shoreline, The Straits Course and The Irish Course. Between 2004 and 2020, this property will have hosted three PGA Championships, a U.S. Senior Open, a Palmer Cup, and the game's most prestigious event, the Ryder Cup.

Kohler rose to the golf scene with Blackwolf Run, Pete Dye's Taj Mahal of Americanized golf in the Midwest. A composite of the River and Meadow Valleys courses hosted the 1998 U.S. Women's Open and did again in 2012.
